Having trouble connecting your HEXBUG toys to your four channel remote? Is one controller driving multiple bots? Do your friends keep taking control of your toys? Well, we might not be able to help with the last one, but we can break down four easy steps to help you pair your controllers without fail! The steps are simple: Set, Turn, Power, and Press. Let me break those down.
SET

This one is pretty easy. Start with the remote that you want to use to drive your robot. The slider on the bottom has four settings, one through four. These are the four channels. Decide who is going to be on what channel. Everyone should pick a different channel. Whichever one you choose, slide the switch to that number.
TURN

Next, it’s time to take some precautionary measures. You will want to grab your remote and toy that you are pairing, and turn your back to everyone else you are playing with. This is because whatever remote signal the toy registers first is the channel that it pairs to. So you want to block all the other signals using your body. Then you are ready for the next step.
POWER

This step is easy, but crucial. Remember to turn your HEXBUG toy on. You would be surprised how often this step gets overlooked. Most of the HEXBUG toys will give you a signal when they get switched on. The BattleBots and Robotic Soccer spin their wheels forward and back real quick, and the Battle Ground toys have a special sound effect that plays.
PRESS

The final step is to press a button on your remote. Any button. Go ahead, pick one. Good choice! This sends a clear signal to your bot, and will ensure that it pairs to the channel that you wanted it to. After this, you should be ready to play!
It’s as simple as that. After you’ve correctly paired your remote with your bot, it’s time to play! Remember, this step-by-step guide works for any HEXBUG products that use the four channel remote. BattleBots, Robotic Soccer, and the Battle Ground toys are all covered. If you still have questions, or if you would prefer a visual guide, check out our YouTube video for further reference. Happy playing!
