Swimming very soon onto television is the highly anticipated (and highly terrifying) return of Shark Week. Starting on July 23rd Discovery Channel will begin to air their original programming, television specials, and movies all based on our favorite toothy predator. Fans love it, the internet loves it, the world is waiting on edge to take a bite out of this pop culture phenomena. Start the party early with this fun #HEXDIY. This HEXHUB post will teach you how to create a fun, alcohol-free, frozen drink shark fans of any age can enjoy! Follow along below to make this refreshing treat!
Before you begin: You may need an adult’s assistance with this project if you are 12 years or younger.
Materials Needed:
- HEXBUG Zombie AquaBot Shark ($12.99, hexbug.com)
- 6oz Frozen Lemonade ($1.25, walmart.com)
- Roses Grenadine ($3.26, walmart.com)
- 2 quarts of Sprite ($1.56, walmart.com)
- Nopro Measuring cup ($4.86, walmart.com)
- Large Mixing Spoon ($6.49, walmart.com)
- Hamilton Beach 2 Speed Blender ($34.85, walmart.com)
- Glass (any household glass will do)
- ½ measuring cup of ice
- 6oz of water
STEP 1:
Add water, Sprite, and frozen lemonade into blender. Stir ingredients with your mixing spoon until they are dissolved together. Once the ingredients are dissolved, add ice to blender. Blend together on a medium setting for 20 seconds.
STEP 2:
Pour mixture into your glass. It should now be a slushy consistency. Top your drink with two to four drops of grenadine. This will add the eerie “blood in the water” effect.
STEP 3:
Top your drink off with a HEXBUG Zombie AquaBot Shark, we suggest placing it right near the red splotch of grenadine.
STEP 4:
Just like that, you’re all set to host your very own Shark Week premiere party, with an AquaBot twist. Share your results! Use the hashtag “#HEXDIY” and tag us in your photo on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram!
