Spooky activities are in full swing as Halloween approaches and October excitement is in the air. Being that Halloween is not a holiday that explicitly promotes quality time together like Christmas or Thanksgiving, we at HEXBUG DIY have devised an easy-to-assemble craft that results in hours of quality time with your loved ones. Gather your tiny pumpkins and Zombie nano for a festive game we like to call “Tic-Tac-Terror”. A new take on an old game (Tic-Tac-Toe) – it’s frightfully fun for children and parents alike!

Before you begin, you may need an adult’s assistance with the cutting and gluing.
Construction of the board base is simple. Click Here and print out the pdf of the board image. Using your trusty Xacto cutting tool, cut an 8.5 inch by 8.5 inch square out of the black Elmer’s Presentation Board. After, cut out the pdf image as well. Adhere the tic-tac-toe background to the black foam board with a glue stick.
Now using the remainder of your foam board sheet, cut 4 strips, 2 inches wide and 8.5 inches long. These will function as the outer border of the board. Cut out 4 more 2 inch wide strips, each of these strips will be 8.3 inches long, these will function as your board dividers.
Make slits in the board dividers so that the parts are able to interlock to form the tic-tac-toe crisscross shape. Starting from the end of the strip measure 2.5 inches in and make a .25 inch slit. Repeat on the the other end to result in one strip with two parallel slits. Repeat this process four times to create four matching strips.
When you have completed all of the cutting, line up and interlock the slits of the dividing pieces to form the tic-tac-toe crisscross, or a large foam hashtag. You are now ready to glue your whole game board together! Heat up your handy hot glue gun and line the underside of your crisscross shape with glue. Firmly lay it over your image in accordance to the pattern. Glue the four wall strips around your board and your Tic-Tac-Terror board is complete!
