Moms are the ultimate multitaskers, caretakers, role models and on top of that, they love us unconditionally! After all the little things they do, the least we can do is make sure they feel special this Mother’s Day! Nothing is better than a homemade card and breakfast in bed, but we at HEXBUG are here to offer another option, flowers! However, this isn’t your average handpicked backyard bouquet. Build your mom a personalized flower arrangement straight from the heart! And the best part is – these flowers are made from assorted VEX Robotics parts, so chances are, you’ll already have everything you need!
Below we’ll show you how to construct these budding builds but remember, VEX Robotics easy snap-together pieces allow you to have total creative freedom! Feel free to substitute some of the pieces in our example for different ones, or create a brand new flower all of your own!
What You’ll Need:

– 1 x 1 Pins (60)

– Crank Handles (12)
Flower Stem
– Handle Plates (6)

– 1 x 20 Beams (3)
Example Flower

– Spider 48 Tooth Ring Gear (1)
– 48 T Spur Gear (1)
– 0 x 1 Sheet Pins (2)
– 3 x capped shaft (1)
STEP 1: Use pins to secure claw bulls and crank handles into 12 x 12 plate.
STEP 2: Connect leaves to stem by using pins to attach your handle plates to a 1 x 20 beam.
STEP 3: Attach the 3 x capped shaft through the 48 T Spur Gear and into the yellow knob. The 48 T Spur Gear rests comfortably on top the Spider 48 Tooth Ring Gear. Use 2 (0 x 1) pins to secure the yellow knob into the 48 T Spur Gear.
STEP 4: Secure 2 evenly spaced pins into stem. Place the other end of those pins into the back of the 48 T Spur Gear on your flower.
STEP 5: Repeat steps 1-4 as many times as you’d like for additional flowers complete your bouquet.
And just like that you have a beautiful flower arrangement for your Mom! I bet she’ll think you’re pretty creative too (we’ll just keep this blog post between us).
Have a very happy Mother’s Day! Love, HEXBUG
